Remnants of Hurricane Nicole, now a tropical depression made its way up the east coast with steady rain and sustained winds. While not as strong as it was when it made landfall on the Florida coast, the weather system managed to knock out power for a few in Locust Valley from Wood Lane to Matinecock. Some residents experienced flickering lights and momentary loss of power.
PSEG Long Island noted that crews are on the scene and affected residents should be back with power Saturday morning. In total there were 391 affected customers with 24 active outages.
