During a well attended Locust Valley Fire District Board Meeting, Chairman of the fire commissioner’s, Peter Olson, read a statement regarding ex-Chief Brian Nolan’s status in the volunteer fire department.
Statement below:
The Locust Valley fire department relieved Brian Nolan from his duties as Chief of the Fire Department. He will continue as a volunteer member of the fire department.
Jim Bonislawski Jr. Has been elevated to the position of the chief and Matt Stimola as first assistant chief. The Locust Valley Fire Department does not and will not condone any alleged improper or inappropriate behavior that arises to the level of conduct that one is unbecoming of an officer or a member of the fire district or department and or two brings disgrace to and shame upon the fire department and your fire district and or three otherwise violates the by rules and regulations of the fire Locust Valley Fire District and department. If there is any event or incident or series thereof that occurs in the personal life of any officer and or member that may rise to those levels, the Locust Valley Fire Department will investigate in an effort to determine the facts and the effect of the officers for the member’s ability to faithfully discharge the responsibilities of his or her office or position with the Locust Valley Fire District or department.
That is my statement.
TOB Attorney Frank Scalera also announced that an investigation has been and is underway.
Commentary included setting up a separate phone line or email address for harassment inquiries which caused some confusion between residents and TOB attorney Frank Scalera. Other questions were more poignant about the district commissioners themselves, who do not maintain any presence online or public profile to contact for further information.
Additional questions about the LVFD security system, A/EMT qualification and certification also were asked.
